The Croots Story
We are a second-generation family-run business and have been making our exquisite, luxury bags and accessories for five decades. They are born from many things – our artisan craftsmanship, our stylish English heritage and our dedication to using only the very best quality materials. All our luxury leather and canvas bags are hand made here in the picturesque market town of Malton by our specialist makers who have mastered their art over many years.

We’ve been perfecting our stylish bags and accessories for over 50 years, ever since husband and wife founders, John and Margaret Smith, gave up on their search for the perfect sports bag and decided to hand craft one themselves – inspired by the enduring classic style that is synonymous with the gentrified world of English country living.
From those small artisan beginnings to becoming a world-renowned brand, Croots has grown to be one of the leading makers of luxury bags and accessories across the globe. All made by hand in our workshop here in Malton, England.
